  1. Installation INSTRUCTIONS

  3. Image Specifications
  4.  
  5. * Images are available in TIFF as well as Bitmap format
  6. (BMP) for your convenience.  They may be used in any program
  7. that can read TIFF or BMP graphic formats.
  8. * TIFF images are located in the "01" directory/folder
  9. inside the "GRANDCYN" directory/folder inside the "CONTENT"
  10. directory/folder.
  11. * Windows users can also access a directory/folder called
  12. "BMP" that contains Bitmap (BMP) images.  It is located in
  13. the main (root) directory of the CD.

  16. Windows 95 Image Browser installation:
  17.  
  18. * Insert CD in drive.
  19. * Select "Run" from the "Start" menu.  Type in
  20. "D:\WIN_KUDO\SETUP32\SETUP.exe".  Omit quotes and replace the
  21. letter "D" with the appropriate letter for your CD drive (D
  22. is the most common).  Click "OK".  Follow on-screen
  23. instructions.
  24. * After your computer reboots, click on the "Start" menu,
  25. select "Programs" then go to "Grand Canyon Images".  
  26. Finally select the "GRANDCYN" icon.
  27. * The CD MUST BE IN THE DRIVE to launch the browser and view
  28. the images.  When in the browser, right-click on the
  29. thumbnail to view a full-screen image. To view Quicktime movies
  30. left double-click the thumbnail.

  32. Windows 95 Screen Saver installation:
  33.  
  34. * Insert CD in drive.
  35. * Select "Run" from the "Start" menu.
  36. * Type in "D:\SCRN_SVR\WIN95\GRANDCYN.exe".  Omit quotes and
  37. replace the letter "D" with the appropriate letter for your
  38. CD drive (D is the most common).  Click "OK" and follow
  39. on-screen instructions.

  41. Windows 95 Quicktime installation:

  43. Quicktime is required to view the video clips we have
  44. included in our browser.
  45. * If you do not have Quicktime installed, select "Run" from
  46. the "Start" menu.  Type in
  47. "D:\QTINSTAL\WIN95\QTEASY32.EXE".  Omit the quotes and
  48. replace the letter "D" with the appropriate letter for your
  49. CD drive (D is the most common).  Click "OK" and follow
  50. on-screen instructions.

  52. Windows 3 Image Browser installation:

  54. * Launch Windows and insert CD in drive.
  55. * Select "Run" from the "File" menu in the "Program
  56. Manager".
  57. * Type in the path: "D:\WIN_KUDO\SETUP16\SETUP.EXE". Omit
  58. quotes and replace the letter "D" with the appropriate
  59. letter for your CD drive (D is the most common). Click
  60. "OK".  Follow on-screen instructions.
  61. * After your computer reboots, go to your "Program Manager"
  62. and double click on the program group named "Grand
  63. Canyon Images"
  64. * Double click on the "GRANDCYN" icon to enter the browser.
  65. * The CD MUST BE IN THE DRIVE to launch the browser and view
  66. the images. When in the browser, right-click on the
  67. thumbnail to view a full-screen image. To view Quicktime movies
  68. left double-click the thumbnail.

  89. letter for your CD drive (D is the most common). Click "OK"
  90. and follow the on-screen instructions.

  92. Searching captions in the catalog
  93.  
  94. * Captions for each image are in the "notes" field. To
  95. search captions, click on "Find" button in the menu
  96. bar.  When the "find" dialog box comes on screen, change the
  97. pull-down menu from "Name" to "Notes", type in the word(s)
  98. you are searching for and click on the "Find"
  99. button.  Double-click on thumbnails to view image
  100. full-screen.

  102. WALLPAPER (Win 95 only)
  103.  
  104. Launch the image browser. Right click on the image that you would
  105. like to use as your wallpaper. In the "Image Viewer" application,
  106. choose the "Save As bitmap (BMP)..." command from the "File" menu. 
  107. Save the file in the "C:\WINDOWS" directory. Open the "Control Panel"
  108. window and double click on the "Display" icon. Click on the 
  109. "Background" tab. Select the image you would like, and click 
  110. the "Apply" button.
